He been in higher education for over 19 years, including teaching educational technology and social networking currently at Valencia College for the last 13 years. "Creating a Community that Pays to Be involved" with Kristin Manieri
Kristen Manieri is the founder and Editor of Orlando Date Night Guide; a local website that has grown to over 1.6 million annual page views, 50,000 social media followers and over $100,000 in annual revenue. Kristen is also a prolific freelance magazine writer with work appearing in local, national and international publications on topics including travel, restaurants and health. In 2016, Kristen was named Orlando’s Best Blogger by Orlando Magazine and 40 under 40 by Orlando Business Journal.
Kristen shares the strategies she used to create a fiercely loyal readership and build a community that was ready to pay to be involved with her Discovery Club.
"Life After the Fall" with Mark Baratelli
Since 2007, The Daily City's owner Mark Baratelli has written 10,000 blog posts about local life in Orlando. In addition to blogging, he created the nation's first touring food truck event. It brings 39 small businesses to 10 Central Florida towns every month. For this he was inducted into Orlando Sentinel's prestigious Culinary Hall of Fame and was named one of Orlando Business Journal's 40 Under 40.
Mark explains what it was like to be number one, fall, and get back up again. He shares how he persevered by focusing on making a difference in his community.
Part 2: The Progressive Tweet Up
From 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm in the historic downtown
After the speaker presentations, we'll hit the town to explore and tweet up the historic shops, restaurants, and celebrated art galleries with Sanford's April Art Walk, featuring 7 different venues. Plus The Daily City's Food Truck Bazaar will be on-hand for some yummy food!
Part 3: The Art is a Drag Show
Starting at 9 pm at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center
The Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center is featuring the "Art is a Drag Show." Spring Fling attendees get a discounted ticket of $18 if they show their conference name tag. (Show is restricted to 18-years-old and up)
